Some want it fixed but if MSFT can't fix it, why do you expect others to fix it? I don't dare to suggest the Mac version of Outlook. I have a Mac Pro, OS X 10.12.6, and yes, I have installed all available updates for Office. ![]() E.g., If I send a simple jpeg attachment, nothing too large, the recipient cannot open it if they are not also using Outlook. On my Mac, I am not using any compression software, encryption software, or anti-virus software that should corrupt the file. When I copy myself on that e-mail, I am easily able to open the attachment copy that comes back if I again use Outlook. It is not a server issue either, if I e-mail the same file from my home computer to myself on my work computer which is running Windows 7, Outlook 2016, I can open the attachment fine. This is going from a POP account to an Exchange account, and from a Mac to a PC, so it is crossing a couple of barriers unscathed. I can send attachments from my Mac's Outlook 2016 to my wife's computer running Windows 7 and Office 2007 Outlook, and she can open the attachments OK, so it is not an Office version issue If I then try to open that e-mail sent to my iPhone (iOS10.3.3) using the Apple mail App, the attachment won't open. If I then try to open that jpeg using the Apple Mail (v. 10.3, part of OSX 10.12.6) on my Mac, the attachment won't open. Based upon this, Outlook is the common denominator, manipulating the attachment in such a way as to make it unusable if opened by an e-mail client other than Outlook. I will assume that this is not an intentional limit of Outlook 2016. Is there some file compression or encoding setting within Outlook that needs to be changed or disabled to allow attachments to be correctly received by recipients not also using Outlook? When sending emails with.jepg attachment, the recipient cannot open the attached file except using Outlook client? May I know if the recipient are all using Exchange accounts? Simply put, when sending an e-mail from my Outlook 2016 for Mac, attachments to that e-mail cannot be opened by a recipient, whether on another Mac or iPhone, unless they are also using Outlook. Program for mac to cut video. If they are using the Apple Mail App, either on a Mac desktop running OSX or with an iPhone running iOS, they cannot open the attachment. This issue is consistent with many recipients using different servers and e-mail accounts. I have no way to determine all of their account settings, nor should I be expected to advise future recipients to change their settings due to an Outlook problem on my side. Yes, the only work-around, so far, has been to insert the image directly into the e-mail body, however, I should not need to do this. My Outlook is up-to-date as a check just now reported that no new updates are available. Can you please advise on the setting change or other Outlook fix to allow attachments to be handled correctly?
